Our work
Enact Arts is a community interest start up with the mission to promote creative practice for well-being and personal, professional and community development. We create and support communities of practice and networks which include arts researchers, arts practitioners, recreational artists and people who love the arts. Enact Arts CIC works with practitioners of all racial backgrounds whilst running specific projects to support practitioners and practices of African lineage.
We advocate for the space for artistry and creative expression in our society. Our CIC’s work is primarily in the fields of Creative Health, Everyday Creativity and Africa and Diaspora cultural production.

Meet the Directors
Founder/Director
'Funmi Adewole Elliott (PhD)
‘Funmi Adewole Elliott is an arts practitioner working across storytelling, dance practice, professional development, training, and research. She has over 35 years of experience in arts and culture internationally
She continues to perform, using performance as a
central method for engaging with and exploring the
socio-cultural and historical issues that inspire and
inform her practice.
She holds an MA in Postcolonial Studies, a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education and a PhD in Dance Studies. Her research areas are Dance as a profession,
Dance of Africa and the Diaspora in the UK, Creative
Health, Storytelling as performance, African cultural
production.
She founded Enact Arts CIC to support communities of artistic practice and creative practitioners, as well as researchers—particularly those of African descent—
whose work contributes to the arts and the wider
creative economy. She is also passionate about and promotes about creative practice as part of everyday life.
Director
Precious Obilaso
Precious Obilaso is a Paediatric Nurse with over seven years’ experience supporting children and families
across hospital and community settings in the UK and internationally. Her work has spanned complex
long-term care in Abu Dhabi, hands-on community practice, and global service through volunteering with Mercy Ships in Sierra Leone. These experiences have shaped her practice, resilience, and commitment
to care.
Precious is also a creative practitioner with a strong interest in arts, culture, and performance. As a Director
at Enact Arts CIC, she supports dance and performing
arts initiatives that engage, inspire, and empower communities. She is passionate about storytelling,
creative expression, and the ways the arts can explore socio-cultural and historical issues, foster wellbeing,
and amplify voices. For her, creativity—whether through painting, culture, or movement—is a vital lens for connection, reflection, and growth.
