Winifred Ekezie is a Lecturer in Public Health and Director at the Centre for Health and Society at Aston University. She is also the UK Regional Coordinator and Evidence Synthesis Coordinator for the Avoidable Deaths Network.

Her research focuses on developing a record of work around addressing health care equity and access for marginalised groups, especially ethnic minorities, migrants and displaced communities. Her work includes engaging these communities in health and social care service research and intervention development, and decision-making. She uses a range of innovative and creative approaches in her work. She also actively engages students interested in public health in these creative activities to enrich their learning, inspire their creativity, and equip them with the skills needed to become innovative practitioners and researchers.
